Fun Fact: Ever heard of the Craighurst Line? This line was proposed in 2021 by Simcoe County in their transportation plan, and it would act as an extension of the proposed GO Transit Bolton Line. No further developments have happened with this line yet.

Fun Fact: Ever heard of the Hamilton Passenger Rail network? This was proposed in 2010 by the city of Hamilton to connect Hamilton and Kitchener together with transit. This network was never built.

Fun Fact: Ever heard of the GO Transit Pickering Airport Line? This maglev line was proposed in the early 1970’s by the province of Ontario, and intended to shuttle people between Pickering GO station and the then-proposed Pickering International Airport. This line was never built.

Fun Fact: Once a year, every year on December 25th, the GO Transit North Pole Line opens for one day of service. This line makes limited stops up to Barrie, then proceeds north 4,500km to the North Pole to pick up a specific unspecified person every year so he can make deliveries

Fun Fact: Ever heard of the Seaton Line? This line would travel east from Union to northern Pickering, with a possible branch to North Toronto Station. The Seaton Line was proposed in Metrolinx’s 2008 The Big Move plan, but was quickly dropped in revised copies published soon after.

Fun Fact: Did you most GO trains don’t return to Toronto at night? GO Transit has dozens of yard across the network to allow equipment to be stored across the system, instead of in one location.

I see that there’s a trend of people posting traffic tips so here’s one: If you’re turning west onto Plains Road from Francis/Fortinos, don’t cut in front and almost hit pedestrians that have the right of way to walk.

Fun Fact: In 1989 a full speed GO train hit a truck that was stealing over $40,000 worth of scrap metal from a scrap yard on the other side of the tracks. The 12 car train fully derailed closing the line and cancelling dozens of trains.
