Doctor didn't discuss choices!

About 10 years ago I had mono vision LASIK surgery. I had it corrected for reading and distance. Activities like grocery shopping had become unbearable taking glasses on and off constantly. I also taught and my students became keepers of my glasses. Fast forward and my near sightedness is driving me crazy. My eye doctor suggested cataract surgery rather than revisionist surgery with LASIK.

I went to see the cataract surgeon today and he immediately said we'll do monovision for this surgery. He didn't discuss any other options. I do not like wearing glasses especially ones that have to come off and on. It's extremely annoying.

Should I go back and insist he discuss the multifocal lenses at this point? His pamphlet says he has lenses that correct all fields of vision and halos/glares. I know they are more expensive, but so are eye glasses. I would rather spend the money and not have to wear glasses.

I am frustrated with the lack of information!
