are Prophet rev2's two individual layers able to Tx/Rx different midi channels?

Hi. prophet rev2 can work as bitimbral synth as we all know. My question is, can layer 1 receive midi ch1 and layer two midi ch2? If that's possible, I can use one part of the synth to play its own sound and the other part to play external synth? maybe?
