Is there a simpler, greater Guitar riff than Stone Temple Pilots’ “Vasoline”?

They say you should start guitar by learning Deep Purple’s “Smoke on the Water” or White Stripes’ “Seven Nation Army”. But argue STP’s “Vasoline” which is not only a great song but also ridiculously easy to play- especially for, say, a five year old kid. Anything more simpler?
