State of the XL now?

I am looking at buying an IDEX and new printer,having priced the ratrig 400 with index it's within about 5-8% of the PrusaXL 2 tool head. I know the XL is slightly smaller build volume but overall the machine looks more tidy.

Reviews for the XL in the early days were bad, but things have gone quiet of late - how is it now? Are the early issues fixed? Is it supported by orcaslicer?

I would like a fairly print and leave first layer - how is the XL? I have 3 ender 5+ at various mod states but the first layer is always in need of some input / very slow - meanwhile bamboo users seem to smash the first layer out at 3x my speed and walk away - is the XL like this?

Anything else I should consider? Mostly PLA/PETG so not too worried about enclosures - very occasionally TPU but one of my Ender's prints that just fine so not essential.
