Is insane zombie pop worth it?

I recently got back into the game since I been waiting for build 42 and decided to make my play through start out with insane pop with zero zombie respawn.

Once I spawned no place was safe, every area was overwhelmed even a farm house in the middle of nowhere so my guy could not find anywhere to rest due to the insane amount of zeds.

I was stuck on the road limping from my wounds and slowly running out of Food.

I tried to use a different tactic by burning hordes of zeds but that was a mistake because I accidentally turned the wrong way while guiding them and got eaten.

Is insane pop worth it? I switched to normal again but I’m worried that normal doesn’t have enough zombies so what settings has the best zombie pop?
