Reinserting a PA

I used to have a PA but removed it years ago. The hole is still there but has shrunk a bit. If I wanted to put the piercing back in, does a piercer just need to put a taper in to expand it a bit and then reinsert the jewelry? If so, does that mean no healing time? TIA
