How has NYU changed compared to 10-20 years ago?

NYU really has climbed the rankings and improved its programs IMMENSELY over the past decade or so which is very great to see. I’m just curious on how much it has changed compared to before? Was it perceived as prestigious before compared to now? Are its programs close to top of the field now? What would you like to see in the next coming decade?
