Help us name our 'O' baby
Okay, so husband and I are expecting our first child in September. We live in the UK. Our names are Olivia and Oliver (I know, how weird! We go by Liv and Oli) so we thought it would be a nice idea to name our baby a name either beginning with an O or with a strong O sound within the name, or similar letters from our names like V for example. We absolutely would not use our own names as first or middles. If we have a girl I would love to honour my Grandma who was called Anne (so including Anne/Anna/Annie etc. would be nice somewhere within a girls name).
We don't know the gender yet so ideas for boys and girls would be most welcome!
Names we like the sounds of include for boys: Oscar, Toby/Tobias, Reuben, Arlo, Joseph, Rowan. Husband has vetoed Leo which I like).
And for girls: Annie, Verity, Orla, Viola/Violet, Nova, Sophia, Summer.
We don't necessarily want something incredibly popular which I know some on our list are (as a couple with super popular names ourselves), but don't want to pick a name where they would have to explain how it's said or spelled. We'd like it to be something recognisable, but classic.
Any suggestions would be most welcome!
UPDATE: Wow, thanks so much for all the fantastic suggestions! A little overwhelmed at the response as we only expected maybe a few comments. For a number of reasons we think this could be our only child so we aren't too worried about having a legion of O babies. Ultimately, the name we choose will definitely be one we love the most rather than being an O name, and we'd have absolutely no expectation for any sort of naming tradition for the next generation. It's just a bit of fun and great to see any other names we hadn't considered. We definitely have lots to think about now and have a good shortlist going on having looked at a few suggestions from the comments! Thanks again for all your ideas!
