Gift card stolen

My family bought me a $100 gift card earlier this month as a bday gift. They gave me a physical gift card they bought in a lululemon store and they told me the store also associated the gift card with my lululemon account.

I went into a store to use the gift card earlier this week only to find out there was no money on it. The person helping me called the gift card phone number to look into what happened and the gift card line said they’d contact me in a few days with a resolution.

Looking at my account, I could see that the gift card was purchased at the store by me as a transaction associated with my account but could not see where the gift card was used.

I got this email from the gift card team, and happy they are giving me a $100 credit, but is it worth filing a police report over? Seems like the police would just laugh in my face over looking into a $100 gift card. Has anyone dealt with this before with a gift card?
