How do you solve interval notation?

One of my students has come to me with his math homework, and I don’t understand it. It’s interval notation and I’ve only a vague remembrance of it. The first problem was (x+4)(x-8)is less than 0. We solved for x and got x is greater than 16, but that’s not on the number line we were given, and we don’t have any clue what to do with the chart below it with columns labeled “Region, Number, Inequality, T or F?” Could really use some help.
