Choosing eye pin hardness
Hello!! Firstly this is the best group ever thank u all for existing and being so helpful always.
I have been working on beaded chains with sterling silver eye pins for necklaces that will occasionally carry some heavier gem beads AND sterling silver charms.
Now that I’ve got my loops down and can invest in more eye pins, I’m on riogrande and struggling to choose between the 1/2 hard (21GA) and 3/4 hard (23GA).
The pins I bought in person were 1” long and I’m excited to be able to get .5” long ones online so I’m not wasting silver when I cut off the ends. I know the gauge will depend on the bead hole. BUT HOW do I choose hardness?? Will 3/4 hard be really difficult to loop?
TLDR-1/2 hard or 3/4 hard eye pins for necklaces requiring 33+ loops done by hand that will be carrying gem beads and charms?
