A lesson from lipstickgate
Lipstickgate is so interesting to me, even 6 years later. I was re-watching videos on it and took a lesson on what you shouldn’t do in a situation where something gets messed up or goes massively wrong.
Mess ups happen in life, even when you do everything you should be doing. This is not the case with Jaclyn, but I’m speaking in a general sense. When things go wrong, it’s important to be honest and upfront with people. Even if it makes you look bad. People will at least RESPECT you for being honest and telling the truth, even if it means you look bad. It’s really hard and your ego may take a hit, but it won’t destroy your reputation in the way lying will.
If Jaclyn had handled lipstickgate differently, i believe she would have been able to come back from it (if it happened in isolation, not including all of the shady things she has done since then such as what she did with Koze). It would have been hard in the immediate fallout, but she would have been able to recover after it was handled properly and honestly. I don’t have any sympathy for her in the aftermath of lipstickgate, because she did it to herself.
Thanks for coming to my Ted talk!
