The Daily (NYT) would like to hear from federal employees

Here at The Daily podcast from the New York Times, we are working on an episode to bring listeners inside what it feels like to be an employee in the federal government at this moment -- or one who has recently lost their job.

What we'd like to capture is the sense of what your work and your department feels like right now. Has the work changed? Has the culture changed? What feels different? Is it big things? Small things? How do you feel about these changes? How do your colleagues feel? What is it like?

Details are helpful to paint a picture. We'd love to know the moment you knew things were changing. Where were you? What happened? How did you react? How did you feel?

We understand a lot of people are nervous to go on the record, and we do not want anyone to talk to us who is not comfortable. We can keep names anonymous and limit identifying information, but note that it is an audio medium, so people will hear your voice. We will not disclose your information to anyone.

If you want to share your experience -- even just a few lines -- you can send an audio message to us at [[email protected]](mailto:[email protected]) with the subject line FEDERAL WORKER EXPERIENCE. If possible, please let us know what department you work for. And please try to keep them relatively short - no more than a couple of minutes or so.

Or you can reach out through the paper's anonymous tips form: nytimes.com/tips. Just be sure to mention it is for The Daily so it finds its way to us.

Thanks so much.
