Do Irish people really dislike Conan?

I know there's some disdain among Irish people toward Conan because he always talks about his Irishness despite being a third-generation Irish-American and never having lived in Ireland. Many Irish people don't even consider him Irish. However, after Conan's travel show, I thought people over there had softened up, but not as much as I expected. I don't understand why the Irish aren't proud of him.

Although, My old college roommate was Irish had told me while some Irish people criticize him, there’s still a percentage who genuinely like him. So it's not all bad for our guy.
