Considering a Move to Switzerland: Experiences and Advice Needed

We are considering moving to Switzerland. My wife is Swiss, and my son holds both Swiss and German citizenship. I currently earn a relatively good salary in Germany – around €90,000 gross per year. At the moment, I work permanent night shifts, which are expected to end this year. After that, I would switch back to rotating shifts, resulting in a gross salary of approximately €65,000.

A realistic salary for me in Switzerland would be around CHF 100,000 gross. In Germany, I benefit from gleitzeit and 30 vacation days, which gave me a total of 55 free days in 2024. However, I assume the number of free days in Switzerland would significantly decrease.

Can anyone share their experiences? What is it like living in Switzerland as a German? What should I be aware of?
