Sensible but nice mods for a mk7 GT?
I recently bought a 2014 1.4 TSI GT (pictured) as a sensible but sleek daily. I love it so far, the economy is brilliant and it's nippy enough for me to live with. I've come from a couple of much louder and "interesting" cars though so I have a bit of an itch to scratch.
What would you recommend doing to it to make it "my own" but without going overboard or too shouty? My thoughts were:
- New wheels (I guess stay 17in to maintain ride - if so, any recommendations?)
- Lowering springs and shocks (any recommendations on a combination of the two that won't compromise ride but will give me say 30-40mm lower ride height? At what point am I better off with coilovers?)
- Eco map to around 170/180bhp
- Maybe a resonated cat back? I've had non res on my previous two cars and it has been absolutely too loud. I just want cool sound, not loud sound. Would this require a nice valance?
- I might be a bit cheeky and invest in a lip spoiler also but I draw the line at splitters and diffusers
