[Illinois] If I resign from my job, can I collect unemployment?

I want to leave my job and was wondering if I would be able to collect unemployment afterwards?

The circumstance is I've been denied a promotion multiple times and my manager in person has even told me to look around at other companies and see what else is out there and use my manager as a reference (all in person so no documents of this).

The counterargument is, I should stay at my current company and collect a paycheck while job searching, I've been doing that, but at the same time it would be nice to have some time away from working so I can think to myself and really figure out what I want to do. That is my dilemma.
