Could ulta be good employment for a disabled person?
So I’m chronically ill (still working on diagnosis and other medical stuff) which has led to lots of chronic pain and disability. I’m 19 and all started like 2 years ago. I use a cane to walk and use multiple joint braces all over my body. I struggled in school with it and have not been employed since pre illness. My parents really want me to try employment somewhere not the make money and move out but to have some hope I can be self sufficient in the future. They know my love for makeup and are encouraging me to apply at our local ulta. I worry that I’ll either need too many accommodations to be rational or won’t get any at all and would just suffer until I quit because the higher ups of ulta wouldn’t care. I’m very lucky and grateful that I don’t need to make money rn and could quit, but would it even be worth trying. Specifications of possible accommodations. I use a cane to help me walk but can’t walk or stand for long periods. I black out vision wise or am at fainting risk often. Can’t carry heavy objects. Limited repetitive motions. Rare occasion can’t walk or move and would need to call in sick. I honestly think I’ll have to apply for disability in the long run but I don’t think the truth of that has set in for me or my parents. If you’ve gotten this far thank you for reading. Summary: Is ulta generally a good place of employment for someone disabled and chronically ill?
