Course Creation - Updating a Course

I am curious, if when you create a course to sell on uDemy, is it possible to edit the course, and add more content too it over time, so that those who have purchased it, can come back and see new content? If so, would those customers receive some form of notification that the course has been upgraded?

Or is it better to create sequel courses of sorts?

Pros and Cons?
