USPS RTO Mandate for Non-Bargaining Workers

With the China news taking over the front page, USPS seems to have also quietly launch RTO plans for non-bargaining employees.

  1. 3 Days WFH Until 3/10/25

  2. 2 Days WFH Until 6/9/25

  3. 1 Day WFH Afterwards

It should be noted that non-bargaining (lots of mgmt and contractors) were already on hybrid setups regardless but this cements the RTO push. This also seemly tides together right when the Union contracts come up for renewable in June. There a very good chance, management will try to push for the removal of remote work saying and use managers to pressure the remote workers now that telework is being phase out for the higher ups. It was enshrine in the last contract and with USPS being independent there is less pressure for the Union to remove it from the contract, but this should be noted as happening.

It became apart of a MOU in 2023 to put a barrier for those with remote agreements or disability accommodations. It also why the Union has been pushing hard for anyone on an old telework agreement to drop it for remote work. There has also been push to drop office space for USPS.
