The onshoring mirage

I feel this is an important part of the tariff story. Even if American factories came back to US shores the productivity of them could not match those in countries like Mexico or China. American workers do not have the same work ethic. We are fat and eat burger. This is the cold hard political economic reality of 50 years of offshoring.

At my factory hiring a new operator can take months because most do not have the patience to do the job. The vast majority of our workers are immigrants or their children only a handful of native born whites work on the production floor out of about 800 people across 3 shifts.
