What jobs have you found fulfilling outside of teaching?

I left teaching almost two years ago and have been working a non-profit since then where I help to develop educational content for conferences. I really enjoy the people I work with and have a lot more free time now but I have been struggling to feel fulfilled in my work; it’s pretty easy and I don’t particularly care about the content I’m dealing with.

I come from a family of educators so teaching was a huge part of my identity. Since leaving, I’ve been struggling to feel fulfilled or motivated. I want to feel passionate about my work again. I am fully remote now which I think is part of the problem, I’ve realized I need my next role to be hybrid or even fully in person. But I still don’t know where to go from here. I’ve been looking at jobs in copywriting, curriculum development, and marketing. I was thinking maybe part of the problem is the delivery, like when I was teaching I was creating and delivering the content whereas now I’m just creating. I also don’t have as much room for creativity in the content I am creating now.

Has anyone else found themselves struggling with this? What do you do now and how did you find something that re-sparked your passion?
