What are my rights?

I know this may not be the place to ask, but I know so many here are super knowledgeable about many facets of life so I’m deciding to turn to community at this time.

So my lease went from Feb 1, 2024-Jan 31, 2025. I’m in the state of Florida. I’ve lived in this apartment since February 2021. Usually the property manager emails me a lease renewal around the end of December. I’ve been looking out for the email, and after having not received I decided to call the property manager this morning and ask about it.

He tells me that the owner decided to go month to month instead. How can you tell me that the day before the lease is up? Isn’t that something that I should’ve been made aware of months back? And is it just me , or does his reply to me seem a bit threatening?
