Why in the US do young women bring cell phones into a sauna?

In communal saunas, in a gym for example, why are some young women bringing phones into the sauna? This seems to be a new thing. They are often wearing full gym clothing and sneakers and texting when many people prefer to be nude traditionally. Even when the gym rules clearly state no phone in the sauna, they often refuse to stop. It is one of those places many have gone for decades, centuries really, as one of the few spaces to unplug as a sanctuary relaxation. We so desperately need digital free spaces and this one of them ~ ~frustrated 😞
