Do Authors’ Actions Factor into Your Book Choices?

Do you delve into the life and social media of an author wrote choosing to read one of the Romance Novels?

I see so many reviews on Goodreads with ratings based on the factor how the author interacts on social media

I’ve also seen many negative reviews and suggesting to cancel the author if the author used AI to create the cover art for their book instead of hiring an artist or model

Do you take this into account in your romance novel choices?

Do you think it’s fair to rate the book based on factors unrelated to the contents of the book.

I admit to doing something, which might not be the same, but I won’t purchase an audiobook if it’s a high seller or the author is a very popular seller if it is done cheaply. For example if it’s a dual POV and they only hire a female to do both female and male POV for all characters throughout the whole book. If enjoyed many indie authors are hiring male and female narrators and even duet narration now so the real popular large earner ones should be able to provide the same quality product to us.
