period every 2 weeks

hello! i started opill in november, so about 3 months ago, and i have my period every two weeks like clockwork. i’m glad it’s working and preventing me getting knocked up and everything but the mental toll it’s taking on me that i’m on my period so often has me questioning if i should quit taking it. is this normal? is it just my body regulating to it for the first couple months and my periods will go back to normal? or is this just an unfortunate side affect i’m having? any advice will be appreciated!
