Me, Girlfriend, & Dog Looking for recommendations

We both grew up camping around asheville but were looking for a new spot to spend a couple nights. We've been basically everywhere in the pisgah ranger district so preferably somewhere outside that area. Water would be nice but not a deal breaker. If anyone has any recommendations, that would be great. Were willing to drive an hourish outside asheville and willing to hike a couple miles to get somewhere worth it. Thanks in advance!
