Are welding and CNC machining useful to learna as a mechanical engineer?
I'm currently working on my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. I find welding and machining pretty interesting, and I think if nothing else it would be fun to learn new skills.
From what I understand, it seems like engineers don't do as much of the actual fabrication of parts and are more involved in the design process. Would it be worthwile to learn how to weld or use CNC machines? If so, where would a good place to learn these skills be?
