AAMC FL 5 B/B #50
I'm confused about the first paragraph of this passage, which I think is enough to answer the question. The first paragraph says that RB's "suppresses human cell division by arresting cells in the G1 phase of the cell cycle and preventing progression to the next phase... by binding to another protein, E2F, a transcription factor needed for further progression through the cell cycle."
First it says that RB's prevent progression of cell cycle by arresting at G1, but then it says that it needs E2F to progress through the cell cycle, which to me implies that E2F is needed to get out of G1. This seems to be circular and does not make sense. Please help!
