MSCS university shortlist fall 2025

Hey, I am a software engineer currently working in Bengaluru and plan to go for MSCS in USA fall 2025.

Profile

Graduation: Tier 3 university

CGPA: 8.6

GRE: 315 (153V, 162Q)

IELTS: Will give in a week, expecting at least 7.5

Internships: 2 (2 months + 6 months) both as SDE intern

Work experience: 26 months as SDE at a startup, working with a team in USA for a large retail company

Project: Have a few decent projects, one of them is a workspace management website on which I worked during my 6 month internship associated with the organisation. This was developed from scratch and is currently being used by two organisations.

I know that the GRE score is not that great and I am reluctant to take another shot due to my full time job but still open for suggestions.

The universities that I have in mind are SJSU, University at buffalo, Stony brook, northeastern, NCSU, ASU.

There are few ambitious ones which I would like to apply are UCSD and UMass Amherst. I would like to understand the chances of getting in the universities mentioned above. Also, it would be great if I get a few more university recommendations. I would appreciate any guidance over this, thank you!
