Why is it darker on card

Right so I like changing my card photo but something I’ve noticed is that it becomes a lot darker when i select it for card is there any way to change this. Also wish there was a way to view how it would look before confirming just because we can’t only upload 5 times a day it’s a bit annoying.

Also how many pages do you have in albums I have 36.
