Vendor hasn’t got a mortgage offer yet

Hi everyone,

I placed an offer on a house in November, got my mortgage offer within a week, survey is complete and all good, solicitor has searches sorted, and sent off enquiries.

However the vendor who is purchasing another property, hasn’t got a mortgage offer yet for the follow on purchase. Is this normal practice for people who are selling and buying another property?
