Have you been able to reverse you hashimoto thyroiditis? How?
After 17 years of taking levothyroxine and never being symptom free, I find out i actually have hashimotos disease. I have gone through so many different doctors, asked so many questions and all they did was prescribe me hormones and draw my blood. As long as it was within the normal range they sent me home even though I kept coming back to complain about my symptoms. This has been such a frustrating journey for me.
Recently I decided I’m going to fix this myself as I’m tired of watching my life pass me by so I started pushing the doctor to get me a bunch of tests and one of the tests came back saying that my antibodies were high. The doctor didn’t make a big deal of it, told me to continue taking my meds and come draw blood again in 6 weeks. I had to actually press for a more detailed answer and she fessed up that these numbers are in line with hashimotos. WTF! Is there a reason doctors do this kind of thing and I’m just unaware? I can’t make sense of it.
So I’ve been reading on the topic and I’ve seen several articles that mention that hashimotos can be reversed with the use of a few combined methods like whole 30 or paleo diet, decrease stress (add meditation, no blue light before bed, 8hrs if sleep), and peptide therapy. That really caught my eye because unrelated to the thyroid issue I had recently grown an interest in peptides but I was scared of how it would affect my thyroid and if it could make things worse.
I’m wondering if anyone here has been able to reverse their hashimotos and gone off the pills. Also, if anyone here has experimented with peptides and what it was like, which one you went with, how it affected their thyroid and labs etc.
TLDR: how did you reverse your hashimotos?
