Last Pick - Likely Runt?
Hi there! My husband and I are sooooo excited for our future mini golden doodle puppy!
Does anyone have a runt that was half the size of the litter and is now perfectly normal health/normal size? What weight were they when you picked them up? Would love to see any photos!
There's a litter of 11 pups - 8 males, 3 girls and we're the 8th male pick. They're estimated 30-40 lbs full grown. All of the puppies are at least 5lbs now (5th week) except one. He is currently at 1lb 15 oz and he's definitely an actual runt of the litter. The breeder said he's been growing every day but he's just so far behind. They took him to the vet 2x and the vet said he is a perfectly healthy puppy just small. I'm worried that if we get him, he might have some health issues in the future OR his adult size is that of a toy poodle (which I don't want).
I'm conflicted if we should take him if he's the last one left.
