Why is every photo I take blurry?

Why is every photo I take blurry? I have set the priority to focus in both AF-C and AF-S modes, but no matter which mode I choose, the face is always blurry, even when I have face detection enabled, etc. I’ve set everything to auto mode, and the focus is always slightly off.

I know that I can adjust the shutter speed to better freeze motion or work with the aperture, but in general, shouldn’t the camera, when every setting is in mode A, and the kids aren’t moving, and the face is correctly detected by the camera, still produce a sharp image? Or not? Unfortunately, the face is always slightly blurry.

What could be the reason? What am I doing wrong? Have I selected incorrect settings in the menu? I’m grateful for any tips!

Let me know if you’d like additional adjustments or clarifications!
