Best wedding registry items for long-term frugality?

I'm getting married this summer, and my partner and I are setting up a gift registry. Any suggestions on things that would be good to ask for? Things that end up saving money long-term? Things pricier than I would usually go for, but worthwhile because they last forever?

Our families are generous but we are looking for items of all price points, so I'm happy to hear any of your suggestions. We are moving in together just before the wedding and we have furniture, but little else in terms of household or kitchen things because we both currently have roommates who own most of those things.
