Season 2 Episode 9 - new viewer, bummed out about the insects

I'm up to Season 2 episode 9, and I'm honestly kinda disappointed that the writers just hit a "anyone's in danger anytime ever because now a bug can do it" button.
So now there's bugs everywhere, and there's no logic to anything anyone does ever, because bugs are everywhere, and no house ever is ever hermetically sealed.
This development means that everyone should be dead.
There's no logic beyond this point.
They dropped a metaphoric nuke on the town and expect me to believe that life goes on.
