Crossposting this from Fortnite over 40, because my son thinks he's being unfairly maligned and wants other opinions
The difference in how my son and I approach this game.
Son: Possible landing places are already ranked based on loot chances and rotation possibilities
Me: I'm gonna land at the soccer stadium no one goes to and kick the ball around to see if it makes the scoreboard change. It doesn't :( (Edit: Apparently it does. Yay!)
Son: Load outs are min-maxed and sorted for optimum efficiency
Me: I don't know how I ended up with two SMGs, two shotguns, and a sword, but sure. Why not
Son: Friends list contains people from school, sports clubs, and talented/fun randoms
Me: I have one friend in my list. My also almost-50 former college roommate that is the only person I duo with
Son: Mics always on
Me: Mics never on. I will not be forced to listen to teenagers
Son: Winning is the only thing to strive for. Everything else is just losing
Me: If I have to spend the entire time the next several matches searching for an Earth Sprite, so help me God, I will
Son: Ranked is the only true way to play
Me: Ranked only exists to grind for cosmetics and to make me angry
