I wish this game was just the main missions back to back, like a Devil May Cry game

I just fought Bahamut, but I'm taking a break because I know the game will be at least another hour of pointless fetch quests before I get back to the action.

The open maps feel pointless, the side quests feel pointless, the hideaway is too big; everything just feels like a slog. I like the characters, the story, the kaiju battles, and the combat, but my god does it take forever to get to.
