1987 F-350 with 460: would you use this piston?

Long story short, bought an 87 F-350 with low miles with a 460 and manual T-19. Massive coolant in cylinders. Presumably massive overheating issue in its past. Heads were found to be cracked and replaced/machined those. Block was found to be fine but cylinders were honed by machine shop because of some light scuffing on sides. The scuffing lines up with scuffing on piston tops (near the rings). The pistons are not cracked, broken, and all rings are clean move freely within lands. They look almost new. They might be new. However they’re obviously scuffed.

My dilemma is this: the machine shop looked at a couple and said they’re fine. I posted a pic elsewhere and was told to replace pistons immediately. Could I just remove rings, buff up the scuffs a bit, and re-use? I’m getting conflicting feedback. My opinion? They don’t look that bad, but I’m a noob. Please see attached pics and advise.

P.s. it’s obviously an old truck and I bought it for $1,200. This thing will never go cross country or be a daily driver. It may deliver top soil and firewood for the next five years or so.

P.s.s. Then again, while I’ve loved this whole learning process, I don’t want to be in the guts of this thing again anytime soon.
