Hello,

This is my first time posting here and I could really use some advice.

I got really lucky the other day and scored some Paradigm 100 v3's off of Facebook marketplace for $100, a huge upgrade from my previous Klipsch KSF 10.5 tower speakers.

With this new addition I’m looking to upgrade my vinyl 2.1 setup, but while also keeping full 5.1 for movies. Here’s my current setup:

  • Turntable: Pioneer PL-1250 with Ortofon Red
  • Phono Preamp: Schiit Mani 2
  • Receiver: Yamaha RX-V485 (only has sub out, no front pre-outs)
  • Front Speakers: Paradigm Studio 100 v3 towers
  • Center Speaker: Klipsch KSF-C5
  • Surround Speakers: Edifier R1280T
  • Subwoofer: Kanto Sub8

I believe my weakest link currently for 2.1 is the amplification. I’m considering:

  1. Adding a dedicated amplifier and potentially using a speaker-level converter since my receiver lacks pre-outs.
  2. Alternatively, upgrading to a high-end receiver (like an Anthem MRX500) that offers front amplification and pre-outs.

Any advice on which route offers the best improvement for vinyl playback without sacrificing 5.1 performance? Also, any quick wiring/connection tips for high-end systems would be great.

Thanks in advance!
