First (and last) time making Boston crème donuts

I made Boston cremes exactly how I wanted them at home (extra chocolate, extra custard) with a traditional recipe… except the ones at the store are so different that it skewed my expectations. They do look amazing and I had a good time making them! But I didn’t know exactly when the dough was ready so it over proofed and turned out a little bready, and the recipe called for semisweet chocolate ganache which of course was more bitter than the store bought. Will probably never make them again since I’m watching my sugar be carbs but this was a fun experience.
