Question for safety of California Zephyr departing from Emeryville

I am a Korean planning to travel to the US soon.

I’m going to take a bus from LA to the Oakland BART station because I’ll be transferring to the Emeryville Amtrak station to catch the California Zephyr to Chicago. However, I've read many comments about Oakland being unsafe. Unfortunately, I’ll be arriving at the West BART station around 6:30 AM. As a solo traveler, is it safe to travel to the Emeryville station at that time, or should I look for another option?
